Importance-
We learn more about how Bernard is an individual. Lenina really likes Bernard and is attracted to him, she just wishes he weren't so odd. Which is ironic because in our world he is a normal person with thoughts and feelings of his own. Lenina is a product of the society, she only sees outside appearance of things.
The Director has decided to send to Bernard to Iceland. What will happen to Bernard and Lenina? Will Bernard become a product of society or will he remain an individual?
What about John's mother isn't she important? Has she changed since being left in the salvation? Is John an allusion? What about the Shakespeare allusions?
