Symbolism:
Harrison represents defiance and individuality that still exists in some Americans. He has none of the cowardice and passivity that nearly everyone else in the story does. He is brave, strong, exaggerated alpha male who hungers for power.
Allusions:
Diana moon- greek goddess on hunt Diana who is associated with the moon.
Handicapper-General agents- H-G men- alludes to G-men (i.e. government agents
Song: Cooler Than Me-Mike Posner
We picked this song because it's about this guy that likes this girl who doesn't like him back or doesn't allude to the fact that she likes him. She walks around like she think she is all high and mighty i.e. cooler than him.
The handicapper general wants everyone to be equal and the same therefor less than her. Which makes her look cooler than everyone else.
Theme:
The government wants everyone to be equal and not competitive. In now-a-day societies freedom is everything. Everyone wants to be different and their own person. But in Harrison Bergeron, the government provides and forces people with special abilities to wear handicaps.
